Advantages of a high-velocity HVAC system

High-velocity HVAC systems work nearly the same way as most conventional HVAC systems.

It has an outdoor compressor or heat pump that supplies the cooled or heated air needed in your indoor space.

This air travels through an efficient duct system to all the spaces in your home. However, high-velocity heating and cooling systems rely on compact tubing to distribute the conditioned air to different areas of your home. This tubing is typically flexible and around two inches wide, while the vents are about five inches in diameter. High-velocity ducts are usually up to 50% smaller compared to conventional duct systems. Same reason they have to utilize high-velocity systems to generate similar outputs as conventional ducts. High-velocity HVAC systems come with multiple advantages. For starters, they are easy to install. Their two-inch width ducts are easier to retrofit than the standard eight-inch HVAC ducts, making them easier to install in older homes without an existing air conditioning system. These miniature ducts can also be installed inside walls, below floors, and in several other tight places. Their flexibility and versatility allow for easy installation even in spaces such as basements, attics, and closets. They are excellent humidity removers. Due to the high pressure of the air released through the outlets in high-velocity HVAC systems, it is possible to decrease humidity levels by up to 30%. They provide more efficient and even cooling. High-velocity systems achieve the desired temperatures faster while using half the airflow used by traditional systems. They also provide improved aesthetics as they are less noticeable and can easily be tucked away out of sight.
