I feel very much like a man in demand these days. This was not always the case, and in fact as far back as I can remember it has never been the case at all. I was not very popular in school, nor did I get good grades. I didn’t really have the GPA or the drive to go to college, which is good because my folks didn’t have the cash to send me anyways. I landed a good job, and found a good friend who recommended a better job — getting into HVAC repair work. Now I make a respectable living, and I have more job opportunities every day because HVAC techs are really in high demand. How high? I was listening to my work playlist on Spotify and they played a commercial for a company searching for HVAC techs. I found an HVAC job opportunity while listening to my metal music online, how does something like this happen? I am feeling pretty good about this, knowing I have options, but for now I’m still loyal to the HVAC company that first hired me. I wouldn’t have this great job without that HVAC company taking a chance on me, so I owe them loyalty at least for a while. In time I will need to branch out, I’m sure, and follow the money wherever the HVAC work takes me. Better than the pay and the opportunities, HVAC work gives me freedom to roam, because no matter where I end up someone will need an air conditioner or a heater fixed.
