From thermostat to home automation system

This would allow me to make adjustments and monitor activity whether I was at home or away

I wasn’t originally considering a hoe automation system. I was interested in replacing my thermostat. The device required manual adjustment and was nothing more than a plastic dial. I doubted its accuracy. Most days, I would forget to raise or lower the thermostat before my husband and I headed for work and the kids left for school. The furnace or air conditioner would then blast all day long. I’d pay to heat or cool an empty house to the ideal temperature. If I managed to adjust the thermostat prior to leaving in the morning, my family would return home to an overheated or chilly house. I started looking into smar thermostats with learning capacity. After installation, the device keeps track of every adjustment over the course of a week and learns the daily schedule. It then creates a personalized program and automatically raises or lowers temperature settings accordingly. As I read up on smart thermostats, I noticed that one of the features was compatibility with a whole-home automation system. Reading up on home automation, I learned that I could incorporate the operation of the thermostat, dehumidifier, lights and all of our smart appliances into a single hub. Plus, I could add in a security system complete with automated locks, window sensors and surveillance cameras. I’d have access to all aspects of the automated system via an app on my phone. This would allow me to make adjustments and monitor activity whether I was at home or away. I liked the energy saving opportunities and overall convenience. Because of modern wireless technology, the installation of the home automation system was not damaging or disruptive.
