Our kitchen has these bay windows that were installed before my friend and I purchased the house. It’s one of the aspects of the cabin that my friend and I fell in love with right away. The windows are just amazing. I love laying at the kitchen table in the morning plus watching the birds at the bird feeder. Sometimes, I even see deer outside. It’s just so peaceful, especially since winter season started. I could watch the snow falling all afternoon long. The only problem is, these windows let in more than just outdoor beauty. They also let in cold air. Our kitchen is constantly chilly cold no matter how moderate the rest of the cabin is. It’s becoming unbearable, but we have contacted a furnace supplier plus they took a look at our Heating as well as A/C system. They said there has nothing wrong with our furnace though. As I suspected, it’s cold because the glass has no insulation whatsoever. They recommended my friend and I get double paned glass to give us a little bit more protection from the outside chill. However, the furnace supplier did have an occasion for us. They said my friend and I could get the zone control to keep the kitchen a bit warmer. I know they set up some kind of barrier system in the air duct. The barriers closed off the heat to the rest of the cabin when they reach their temperature control settings. Meanwhile, the furnace heats the kitchen. The whole cabin can remain comfortable this way. This looks like something my friend and I might be interested in having done. We would like to stay nice plus comfortable plus my friend and I certainly do love this house. So my friend and I better take good care of it.
