Space heater to keep reptiles warm

Everyone in my neighborhood got a notice telling us that the power would be turned off all weekend for some repairs.

This would not be an issue if it wasn’t winter season time, our section doesn’t get freezing freezing but I have a immense collection of reptiles & invertebrates.

Each of them has particular temperature requirements… Moving such a immense collection to a friend’s house is not possible. That’s why I started looking for ways I could keep them moderate instead. I ended up deciding to get a space heater & a generator. The space heater won’t keep the freezing blooded critters as moderate as they might like, however it will keep them moderate enough that they will live. If I use a space heater in the reptile room it should keep them nice & moderate for a few mornings, so I went out & got the cheapest generator I could find & then made sure I had enough gas to keep it running all weekend. I won’t feed the reptiles a few mornings before the power outage. I do not want them to get sick. I will also crank up the central heater Friday night to make sure the house is nice & moderate & can hold heat for a few mornings. I feel pretty fantastic about this & I know the critters will be safe, besides, it’s nice to have an emergency plan in case the power goes out unexpectedly sometime anyhow. Now I just need to find a way to keep myself entertained without internet or cable. It shouldn’t be too difficult, given all the critters I have.
