I was so infuriated when I got home Sunday & discovered that my boiler had stopped working; My poor cat was home all day without heat.
After much searching, I found her curled up in my bed, under the sheets! She never does this. She must have been trying to stay warm. My house was freezing cold so I called out a boiler maintenance company instantly. They were able to send someone out that same evening. Thankfully, the boiler maintenance was a quick fix… When I asked how I can prevent my cat from freezing all day again the repairman request two things. One, was that I have my boiler maintained at least once a year in the Fall. The other, was that I get a smart thermostat. A smart thermostat fastens to my iPhone so I can constantly see what temperature my house is. I can even set an alarm for an alert if my house drops below a certain degree. I asked if this could be installed right now & the professional said he could, then usually, he wouldn’t on an emergency call however it was a slow evening so he would go ahead & install it. It did not take long for him to get the smart thermostat hooked up. It cost less than I would have expected too. When I went to work on Thursday I was excited that I could see my home temperature from the office. I know my kitty is staying nice a sizzling all day while I work now. I know I will get that preventative boiler maintenance next Fall too. I will be using the same dealer
