I was hunting for something that would keep the sun’s rays out of my house when they advised on these handy metallic sheets that reflect the heat away from my windows even before they get to the glass panes
I have always been a person who finds local solutions to his problems. I guess this attribute goes back to when I was young. My dad was mostly very keen on having his kids learn some of the simple life hacks that he thought would make life manageable. In my typical fashion, I always find a way to make everything work better in my home. There was this time I focused on my HVAC unit because I knew that I could boost its efficiency by doing a few simple tricks. Even without my HVAC technician and advisor’s approval, I went ahead to plant shade trees around the house. Over the years, this has helped since my house generally feels cooler during hot summers since the trees provide shade on my roof; hence the impact is lessened. As such, my air conditioner doesn’t have to overwork since the temperatures in the house are relatively cool even without the air conditioning unit working at maximum capacity. All I had to do was get a wide-growing tree and strategically position it so that its shed falls on the house’s roof. Since I live in an area that generally gets too hot in summer, I also invested in window films, thanks to my local HVAC business shop. I was hunting for something that would keep the sun’s rays out of my house when they advised on these handy metallic sheets that reflect the heat away from my windows even before they get to the glass panes. Even on days when I forget to close the windows, I do not find any of the rooms in the house extremely hot. This way, my AC does not have to overwork to keep the environment comfortable for my family and me.
