About 10 years ago, I purchased a puppy from a neighbor of ours.
It was the cutest little Labrador I had ever seen.
While I truly enjoyed the company of this dog over the years, I also came to realize very quickly that he had a very destructive tendency to chew and gnaw on just about anything. Nothing was safe from his jaws. I learned very quickly that I had to put my shoes up where he could not reach. The one time I could barely believe my eyes concerning the kind of an amount of damage that my dog could do to just about anything was when I came home to find that he had chewed and gnawed and scratched at the indoor component of my HVAC system! Not to mention the fact that he had torn up the AC filters that had been stored in that closet. I’m not sure what possessed me to leave the door open to the HVAC closet that morning before I left for work. I had suddenly remembered that it was time to change out the air filter and I guess I did not close the door. I’m guessing my Labrador was curious enough to go and explore this closet, as he had never had access to it before. Thus, my HVAC equipment was damaged. I wish I could tell you that the repairs didn’t cost a pretty penny, but they did! It’s a good thing did I tend to have a lot of patience with people and animals alike! It’s also a good thing that my Labrador is as cute as ever, because I may have run out of patience by now otherwise!
