Ruined ductwork thanks to our mop vacuum

I got my husband one of those vacuum cleaners that mops and vacuums at the same time. He really wished to have one. I was alright with just using an outdated vacuum and mop myself even though he insisted that this would make his life substantially easier. Since he does do more of the work around the dwelling than I do, I finally agreed. I wish I hadn’t. It is not that the mop vacuum doesn’t work well. It does, the complication is that we have been placing the wet vacuum over our Heating and Air Conditioning vent in the living room environment for just over a year now. It didn’t seem to be a setback at first. The two of us have 4 vents in the living room space alone. However, the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier we use for repairs recently let us know that we have done a huge amount of destruction to our HVAC duct. The dripping water has been going down inside of the HVAC duct all of that time and now the HVAC duct is basically all rusted out underneath the living room space. It is going to have to be substituted altogether. That dirty water is also the source of the stink in the dwelling. The dwelling has been smelling extremely musty and outdated lately. I wonder why! Anyhow, we are getting the HVAC duct substituted. The HVAC duct that doesn’t need replacing is getting cleaned. In fact, our entire Heating and Air Conditioning appliance is getting inspected just to make sure this doesn’t cause any permanent destruction! And, from now on, the mop vacuum is going to be parked in the garage on top of a rubber mat. Hopefully it can’t do any more destruction there.
