The mop vacuum caused damage to the ductwork

I decided to get my wife one of those vacuum cleaners that mops plus vacuums at the same exact time.

She absolutely wanted to have one of those for a long while.

I was honestly just fine with just using an outdated vacuum plus mop myself but she insisted that this would make her life so much better. Since she does do more of the house work than I do, I agreed. I wish I hadn’t. It is not that the mop vacuum doesn’t work well. It actually does, the drawback is that the two of us have been putting the wet vacuum over our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C vent in the property for just over a year now. It didn’t seem to be an issue in the least. We basically have 4 vents in the residence alone, however, the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C business we use for repairs recently said to us that the two of us have done a huge amount of destruction to our HVAC system duct. The dripping water has been going down inside of the HVAC duct regularly plus now the HVAC duct is completely rusted out underneath the living room space. It is basically going to have to be substituted. That dirty water is also the source of the terrible stink in the property. The house has been stinking like must as of late. I wonder why! Anyhow, the two of us are getting the HVAC duct substituted. The air duct that doesn’t need replacing is getting cleaned only. In fact, our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C equipment is getting tested just to make sure this doesn’t cause any permanent issues. And, from now on moving forward, the mop vacuum is easily going to be parked in the garage on top of a rubber mat. Hopefully it can’t do any additional destruction there.
