The traffic was backed up for miles and I was late to the repair

I work as fast as possible to repair the problem and move on to the next repair job.

I knew Friday was going to be a busy day, because it is the end of the week. Most repairs seem to occur on Fridays. I’m not sure why that is true, because a lot of homeowners work from Monday until Friday. I was scheduled to work on a compact boiler repair Friday morning and traffic was backed up for miles. The commercial customer with the compact boiler repair did not answer the phone and I tried to call a couple of different times. I had no problem reaching my boss and I told him about the traffic situation. My boss told me to be safe and not to worry. He also tried to contact the commercial customer with the compact boiler repair. I was nearly an hour late showing up for the appointment, but the business owner didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he didn’t say anything at all about the lateness of my arrival or the three phone calls that I made. I work as fast as possible to repair the problem and move on to the next repair job. When I handed the customer the invoice for the repair order, he finally mentioned something about my late arrival. He expected me to give him a discount, but I couldn’t change the price on the bill. I told the guy to call my boss if he wanted the amount for the repair to be changed. I have no idea if the customer actually called, but my boss probably didn’t give him a discount since both of us tried to call a bunch of times.
