There is nothing better to jolt you back into consciousness than a swim in 45F water for a few minutes.
My lady and I are taking a sabbatical right now in the Arctic region for a few weeks to recharge. I am still doing my writing work each day but this morning I just couldn’t put pen to paper as I was having some serious doubts about my ability to write good material. I decided to skip my coffee at the local business down the street and go for a dip in the icy Arctic waters near our cabin. The space heater is cranked up right now in the bathroom of the cabin and my lovely lady is getting a hot bathtub of bubbles ready for me when I come back. I will take a dip now in the water to see if it gets my brain going, I’ll write more when I am done. Okay, I just got home from the five minute dip in the sea and I must say that I feel like a new person now. The radiant heater next to me has warmed up the bathroom to a balmy 90F while the hot water in the tub envelops my cold skin and makes me feel comfy and cozy. I feel so alert and awake now you would think I just drank a pot of coffee. The HVAC professional got me into the dips a long time ago and I have been hooked ever since. I felt such a jolt of energy this morning when I went in that I think I’ll do it again tomorrow.
